BTS- My Summer Portfolio Shoot with YBLimited Mobile Glam Squad

I had such a great time with YBLimited Mobile Glam Squad and Model Management last month during their Brand Ambassador Shoot, I just had to get the YBLimited experience myself since I needed to update my model portfolio.

That’s right people of the world, you have to have professionals take your pics when you are a professional model.  Agencies and designers don’t like selfies or bathroom shots when deciding who they wanted to work with.

YBLimited Glam Squad members Ms. CoCo and Phillip Washington (CEO) greeted me warmly at the door at Blush Couture Boutique in Atlanta, GA. (Check out this boutique, I LOVE Ms. Andrea’s clothes and accessories!)

Mr. Phillip and I first had our strategy meeting, and he explained that his goal today was to show me off as a professional model, but also as a teenager (because Im 16…lol).

So we began with makeup.  He only used a little to make sure my natural features showed, but enough to make sure the camera was nice to me…lol

All done. Whatcha think?

Then Ms. CoCo helped me take down my hair and styled it (no weave, no perms).

And then we began with the first outfit

Then the second

Brown Girl Magic Conference

So THIS is what they meant by #brownGirlMagic….WOW!!!

13 year Mikaela Smith created Brown Girl Magic with the support of her mom Kia Morgan-Smith, and they held their first Brown Girl Magic Empowerment Conference-Mother/Daughter Dinner in Douglasville, GA!

It was soooo awesome! The theme was “Activating Your Inner Magic”, and it was way more exciting than I could have imagined. Ms. Kia said that activating your inner magic means, “all about teaching girls of color how to find and appreciate the beauty in themselves while using their power and voices to help change the world. We will hold sessions that will feed into the hearts and minds of so many young girls of color: whether Black, mixed raced, Latino, Native American, Middle Eastern or Asian”

They had great food, children vendors (yes, we are entrepreneurs too), and the speakers had great messages just for us. (You guys know speakers can get boring, but they were great!)
